I have had this glass in my stash for years... it has always given me a bland greenish/taupe.
These earring beads are hand shaped... and often times it's tedious repetition - as we are worried about shape as well as a matching pair. I had picked up this rod of glass and was making a milk toast pair of small disks - when I kept noticing the discoloration on the edges... the key, it seems, is a repeated heating/cooling cycle as well as not too long in the flame + a magical sprinkle of fairy dust and a cool northerly breeze. SMH

I'd love to say I have the answer - but - I'm banking on the fact that it's just a wonderful gift of the day - and will soon disappear. I'm enjoying its visit. I've got three pair of these - and one of the gorgeous black with streamers... get 'em tonight (update on my website 5/16/2018 at 9pm CST) while they're hot... you never know what tomorrow will bring... or not.
