These rounds are a gorgeous blue that's veiled over a clear core. Much like a whiteheart - but the intent here is to lighten up a very dense color. I had a request for larger earring beads, and so I ventured to 5/8" and made myself a pair - I am surprised to report that they wore just fine!
I've always loved to make hollows... and it seems every time I list a set it reminds me of when we were living in Germany and there they were called luft balloons... likening them to little air balloons. The hot glass actually inflates as the air trapped inside is heated... neat to watch.
I have a video showing me making one on YouTube.... click the white arrow in the picture ---->
While I love these colors, my normal camera won't allow me to photograph accurately. I borrowed a friend's camera - and OMG - here they are!! In fact, some of the prettiest transparents I struggled photographing came out beautifully!!
Caribbean blue & aqua GORGEOUS! 1"L with 1/16" mandrel holes.
as the temperatures have been hovering right at 100 degrees here - I've discovered my love for these hot colors. Nicely decadent pink rounds... these are 5/8" diameter and make a statement!
I have a pair of earrings using these - and they're gorgeous.
Same gorgeous pink, but in 1/2" dia rounds. Eight rounds with 1/16" mandrel holes - gorgeous.
Seems the color of the season, both in the magazine AND my garden! these 5/8" rounds are made with atype of shampoo glass that has a very subtle sheen in the glass. Lovely.
(one strand left...) Something always whispers to me, that when the color is über feminine - the shape should be as well! I made eighteen of these and have them offered in sets of 6ea. They're 1" long - and pretty uniform. 1/16" mandrel holes... Watery wonderful wistera... These were cleaned with grit and a mandrel... the holes are beautifully smooth and they don't taper to the middle (hourglass).
Glorious encased silvered glass beads in varying versions - silver wire, silver mesh, mica, dots, flecks... they're stunning. Olive base with clear encasing.
These nine pretties measure 1/2"D and have 1/16" mandrel holes.
Mid summer - and looking for color.... here they are - Life Colors with heart! This strand measures 8 1/2"L as shown... and is just super fun.

Sleek and beautiful. Shapes and most certainly the color. This is the Czech Denim Blue... so lovely. I've veiled the denim over clear to brighten the color... but overall... very droolworthy.
Spacers are uniform 7 x 10mm & have 1/16" mandrel holes. I've strung them with wonderful faceted pyrite for a glittery wonderfulness. The focal is lentilized and an elongated oval with a 3/32" mandrel hole. Measures 43mm x 33mm
Two sets here of three 5/8" (22mm) glitterballs, the glitter is fine and subtle and under a layer of clear encasing glass. Pink, Melon, Purple.
Wonderful watery wisteria glass with many forms of inclusions create a very pretty set. Carved, faceted, wired, glitter, sheen, and one plain one... make for a wonderful myriad of fun.
1/2" dia with 1/16" mandrel holes.
The opaque colors were feeling a bit ignored... so I decided to restock the Chintz sets - these feature usually three colors - purple, olive and blue - plus Ivory. (*I guess I don't much consider that a color... huh?) A variety of beads and shapes makes for a fun set. This one has a truncated focal - wrapped at the middle with fine silver wire that has been fused to the surface.
The opaque colors were feeling a bit ignored... so I decided to restock the Chintz sets - these feature usually three colors - purple, olive and blue - plus Ivory. (*I guess I don't much consider that a color... huh?) A variety of beads and shapes makes for a fun set. This set is a little more heavy on the silver accents, several beads wrapped with fine silver wire that has been fused to the surface.
Another fun Chintz set - which feature three colors - purple, olive and blue - plus Ivory. A variety of beads and shapes makes for a fun set. Disks, carved beads, nailheads, encased frit, and wire wrapped beads make up this set. Disks in groups of threes make for interesting pairings - plus make a piece that is more comfortable to wear because of the flexibility of the bead groupings.
A beautiful taupe glass pairs so nicely with the fused silver wire - creating a beautifully unified presentation. 1/2" dia lampwork beads suspended from handmade sterling silver ear wires.
OK, I confess - this was just sheer fun. The beads are large and give more opportunity to easily create a fantastic piece relatively quickly. I would've continued in this manner... but wanted to see how it was received here. The dotted button at the end in front could (and was intended) be used as a button clasp/closure. This set measures 11 1/2" overall as shown, all beads have 1/16" mandrel holes.
