7.2.2009 - Just had to put this photo on the journal - spent some
time yesterday in Pensacola with a good friend - we walked the Old
Town and had SO many opportunities to capture really cool visuals.
The one above is one of them. I'll be peppering the site with more
- as time permits. Smiles, Jill
6.28.2009 - She surfaces - long enough to check everyone's status
and realize that as much as making beads is art... it's also a tremendous
way to relax. I think I'll torch up a storm once I've gotten through
this move. FYI - those of you who don't know, I'm moving this summer
to Austin! Yes - I attended the University of Texas in Austin -
and we always return home! It's a fun town - and I'm thrilled because
for the first time in two decades - I already know people who live
there, that is a luxury that is not often afforded the military
family - plus I'll be close enough to Glassdaddy to go raid his
inventory!!! smiles, Jill
6.20.2009 - At a time when life just seems difficult, I am reminded
all too frequently that this economy has been hard on a great many
families. My heart goes out to a good handful of friends who have
lost jobs and are therefore full of worry about what the future
may or may not hold for them. I think the fear of the unknown is
often the hardest. This is then the time that we rely on faith,
believing things will work out for the best - and that we will be
OK.
I am incredibly grateful for my customers' & their purchases
from my site. My choice to pursue lampworking initially filled a
need to find a way to glean self-worth once it became impossible
to pursue new positions in the interior design field every time
we moved, (nine moves in 20 years as a military family can take
its toll on a career).
This curious glass passion continues to evolve - and I am excited
to see how my work changes continually. The beads have been a wonderful
adventure - and I find my 'voice' is excited and fresh each time
I create. But, it will now be my full time ''job'' - I hope the
new job title doesn't take the fun away!
Next week will be hectic - a household move to Austin TX... but
I will endeavor to return to the comfortable norm of my updates
as soon as possible. I will send word out through the mailing list...
I don't anticipate a lapse of more than a few weeks - if that.
I do have faith that everything will work out... chin up - put on
a smile - and find the silver lining in that stormcloud!! smiles,
Jill
6.17.2009 - I just saw Lisa on Facebook... she had done some magic
with a set of my nuggets... and since there's a set being offered
this week, I thought I'd share her work with you!
mmmm!
Lisa's website is: Joolz
by Lisa and her work is fabulous!

6.11.2009 - working on a cool use for the 'splat' beads...
the design is evolving... and I think I really like where they're
headed!
