16” and 18”L Sterling Silver Diamond-Cut Snake Chains
5” Long as strung, 1/16” mandrel holes, 1/2” W x 5/8”D focal. Of course, I pair this hot pink with black - how much fun is that?? I made two nicely wide focals - the black stripes are variable - and the colors magically appear! ; )
1/16” mandrel holes on all 19 beads.
Topo Purple Pendant - $50
Funny, as these are being made in the flame - I often come up with their names. This series is going to be occasionally referred to as the Topo series - as the lines remind me of topographic maps… Full lentil pendant with vibrant purple dangle. 1” dia lentil with a 9/16"dia dangle.
Beautiful Marci - encased set of colorful beads… I always like this classic color combination - the steely blue paired with confetti studded cool toned ivory - these beads are 1/2”D and all of them (except the disks) are encased in clear. Click the image above for a closer look. All beads have 1/16” mandrel holes. This set measures 9“ in length as strung.
Warm tone encased 1/2”D beads have golden undertones with accents of coral, purple, magenta and cool blue. Coordinating focal bead has a colorful core - encased with clear and dotted in coordinating color. 1/16” mandrel holes. This set measures 5“ in length as strung, the focal is 3/4”D.
Half inch rounds, with color changing frit, encased in clear. 1/16”D mandrel holes.
Encased Purple - $25
Half inch purple rounds, thinly encased in clear. 1/16”D mandrel holes.
Rhythm Pendant - $48 - SOLD
I listen to music quite a bit while I’m torching - wouldn’t it be interesting if “somehow” the sound waves could be captured in glass? I wonder how this would translate into music…. I guess the goal is to make the glass ‘sing’. I’m pleased with this pendant - it’s design, shape and the overall feel. It measures “L and has a sterling silver hanging loop.
Last week we had temps of 86 degrees, yet at the start of the week we were in the 30s… these were made on Monday… and it must’ve been wishful thinking on my part! I love the wonderful range of hot colors that were achieved… These are large hole beads (1/4“D) and have a heavy layer of clear encasing on top of a design core… they are best used/viewed from the front - not the side. Outside diameter measures 5/8“ x 1/4“ thick
Thin walled large hole beads… not much weight - but a little drama. 1/4” dia hole.
Every so often I get thrown a surprise. This was it for me the other day!
Making these large hole rings in fun and unpredictable groovy colors. Joyful.
Of course, in the coming weeks, you’ll see more! Inside Diameter for the Small loops is 1/2“, the Large loops is 3/4“.
Large Groovy Loop Stack (R) - $75
Small Groovy Stack (L) - $50
Loopy Squared - $80
These are from a series that’s inspired by the former Hope Gallery - an Austin landmark graffiti park that has been closed and will be developed - probably into a parking garage. : (
Such fun. Such a fun town I live in…. These are much smaller in diameter compared to last week’s set… they just string onto a cable or cord - and you go. Small beads have 3/32”, dotted is 1/4”, other two have 3/16” mandrel holes.
Thin walled large hole beads… not much weight - but a little drama. 3/16”D hole
Again, a fun pendant that will sit flat against your chest - with a pumpkin colored dangle right below. Shades of olive, midnight, and pumpkin. 1” dia lentil with a 1/2” dangle.
Jetstream Silver Double Chain Bracelet - $70
Delicate Jetstream drop suspended from the clasp area of this double sterling silver chain. I handmade the smaller chain on some crazy day…. (rolling eyes). Nice heavy silver lobster clasp…will easily fit 6 1/2-7” wrist. Three available
Sweet little lentil drop. 1 1/4” dia lentil with coordinating 3/8” silvered glass drop. Kinda sums it all up - quite easily at that! 18” sterling silver diamond cut snake chain included.
Springtime Hollows Necklace - $160
Do you know why these are so nice? Well - hollow beads are made by making two disks a certain distance apart on the bead mandrel - then joining them with a bridge of glass… once joined, the air trapped inside is superheated and when the entire mess of glass is heated to become elastic enough to inflate - the hot air expands and inflates the bead… that being said… it’s hard to get two that are the same size. Here there are six hollows that are the same size and shape… plus a smaller pair and two solid ones at the end, each one separated by a thin glass disk. Hollow beads are extra nice because they allow you to wear a larger bead without the weight solid beads that size would have. These beads have been tumbled to a satin finish and will show nicely against your outfits. Cable wire included.
Large banded focal with mottled green/purple/blue… hangs over a smaller satellite bead that’s been encased in clear. Chains are available on this site if you’d like to add one to this pendant. (the white mark on the image on the right is a reflection…) Top bead measures 1 1/4”, small charm is 1/2”D, overall the pendant measures 1 5/8”.
Feeling faint shimmers of springtime… maybe… anyhow - the transparent glass is calling to me. Fun, elegant and playful necklace of fine-rolo-chain-suspended -bubbles-of-blue. Paired nicely with same style bubbles on handmade SS ear wires.
Bigtop Earrings - $45pr
Love the sweet/silliness of these earrings. Left hand pair is a whimsical wrap ending in a spiral at the bottom, while the right hand pair are more of a methodical even wrap - ending in a cute spiral at the base. Sterling silver findings.
I do love the pure ‘pretty’ this earring style brings forth. While I normally stay away from gold, I feel that these could easily play nicely with either gold or silver! 13mm dia rounds, 15mm dia lentils. Handmade sterling silver findings.
I do love the pure ‘pretty’ this earring style brings forth. With the lentil shaped bead - I especially am drawn to the way the clear rim sparkles and frames the field of glitter. 15mm dia lentils, handmade sterling silver findings.
Silvery Glitter Lentils - $50pr
Sugared Bubble Necklace - $65
free-moving cluster of sugared bubble beads with sterling silver bails - threaded onto a fine sterling silver rolo chain. The necklace has a sterling silver spring hook ball clasp, and the chain is 20“ in length.
These glass rings are made on different diameter mandrels, then acid etched AND tumbled much like the motion of the ocean to give it a softer and more uniform look. In peach, light amethyst, and colorless transparent glass…
While I KNOW these make me think of the beach… they’re frosty too. Just a fun piece to perhaps gift for a beach bound friend. Many tumbled rings moving freely over the small beads - but are actually locked onto the necklace by the diameter of the magnetic clasp. 19” length
Glitterollo Necklace - $50
Simple and sweet. a 5/8”D glitterball on a sweet little 18”L rollo sterling silver chain. It slides over the chain - but will not slide off the end - aka - not removable. Pairs nicely with the glitterball earrings… or makes a statement all by itself. : )
Raised light ivory scrollwork on a base of black/olive/denim - these 1/2” & 3/8”D beads are a beautiful array of designs that will surely be a statement piece. Shown (top) at its shortest length, then below with the extender. Extender is shown in upper right image. Easily pairs with magnetic clasps. : ) It’s a fun segue. I’ve created an extender… as these necklaces can be worn so easily very short…16” but - now there’s a cool option for additional length to 20”.
This type bead has a lovely relief - as the designs are drawn on using a very thin piece of glass as a molten pencil… I’ve always preferred leaving the designs slightly raised as I feel it adds interest and a nice tactile presence.
While mulling over the uses of a single holed half lentil - I decided to venture into the post-earring neighborhood. I like that the weight of the top bead has been halved, and the clean lines of the hardware connecting the bottom bead - and it’s swinginess… I decided these are pretty cool! They come with a pair of silicone earring backs… which I think you will like! Dangle distance is 1 7/8“.
Austin Boro Bracelet - $125
This bracelet is made with Borosilicate (Pyrex) glass - it’s a ‘hard’ glass whose colors ‘bloom’ in the kiln. I tend to like WYSIWYG - so most of these bracelets are what they look like. This fits a 7” wrist easily - and since the 14ga rings are work hardened - they ‘can’ be opened for adjustment - but will not open easily on their own. translated - they can be length adjusted!!
This is stunning. It has a beautiful drape - and a surprise, in that the focal isn’t set dead in the center. I love that occasional stray… This is a graduated strand of turquoise - and I’ve pulled the greens/blues from that in the barrel focal… set off with a trio of black beads and an occasional disk of similar size… Measures 23“ long - with a sterling silver toggle clasp.
5/8”D earrings - certainly have a major way of reflecting out world! I’ve conquered making the hole disappear… what shall I tackle next?? Love these - hope you do as well! Sterling silver findings Boro Beads - the hinge findings I make allow these to have a nice swingy presence.
Again, working with 5/8”D rounds - clear, green, sparkle, then capped with a layer of clear… suspended from little sterling loops which hold my handmade sterling silver ear wires.
Encased Droplets of silver orbit around the top bead, which is carefully holding the second dangling bead. I love the motion that these beads have - all allowed by the unique hinge system I developed - which very cleanly allows the beads to attach and move. 1/2”D rounds atop slim dangles.
I love these, simple continutity in shape… these boro nuggets are joined by hammered sterling silver rings… and spaort a very cool custom clasp which can hook on into any of the rings. I have a 7” wrist and these fit low on my hand (as they should) hooked on the last loop. I can adjust for you, if you’d like.
I’ve rediscovered PINK of late… it’s the color of the season…
1/2”D beads with sterling silver handmade ear wires.
Going into holiday season - these are the dressy version of the Little Black Dress for your ears. Carved Palladium lined clear beads that have carving on the surfaces… makes for more sparkle… hinged over these petite tapers in black… lots of sparkle here and movement. NICE.
Encased wires of silver over a base of pumpkin glass, set with silver hinges over an inverted cone of black glass. This “hinge” allows for swingy motion and give these earrings more of a connection with the wearer - as they move more freely than those that would be wired onto a headpin!
A hearty foursome of cabochons… Black base with a variety of inclusions - mica, palladium leaf, copper mesh, copper stampings and some frit.
